Perfect for refined living rooms or hotel lounges, its sculptural height also makes it a striking silhouette for minimalist corporate lobbies or art gallery foyers.
The name derives from the Latin Placentia (Piacenza), the city marking the beginning of the Via Aemilia - the historical inspiration for this collection. This project evolved from the "Vanitosa" model, driven by a bespoke request for a more minimalist and radical aesthetic.
By stripping away color to favor a deep monochrome, Placentia reinterprets Italian tradition through a contemporary, rigorous lens. It represents a bespoke narrative of sustainable luxury, where the recycled aluminum weave provides a scenographic light that defines and anchors the surrounding space.
The shade features a handcrafted SPLOT® weave made from reclaimed aluminum, meticulously shaped in Italy. This monochrome black finish amplifies the three-dimensional texture, turning the surface into a tool for light sculpting.
The gaps between the strips allow light to filter through, casting dynamic shadows that add depth and a sense of "moving architecture" to any room. Drawing inspiration from contemporary minimalism, the lamp’s tripod base ensures stability without sacrificing visual lightness.
Designed for indoor use but adaptable for sheltered outdoor spaces, Placentia is fully customizable in terms of weave density, size, and finishes. It is a synthesis of Italian high craftsmanship and industrial innovation, standing as a bold icon of character and sustainable light.
