Nodum is a modular room divider featuring a handcrafted SPLOT® panel, designed to define spaces with a sense of airy weightlessness.
While perfect for boutique fitting rooms, hotel lounges, or professional showrooms, its mobile nature also makes it an ideal backdrop for high-end digital conferences or a private sanctuary in an open-plan master suite.
The name Nodum, derived from the Latin for "knot", symbolizes the intersection of protection and connection.
This project originated from a specific client request for a functional, lightweight partition that offers temporary privacy without invasive structural changes. Born as a versatile design tool, it bridges the gap between artisanal heritage and contemporary spatial needs.
The structure of Nodum consists of a sleek stainless steel frame supporting a regular SPLOT® weave made from reclaimed aluminum strips.
Currently available in two finishes - a matte, textured Gold and a brilliant Silver - the weave creates a rhythmic surface that interacts dynamically with light. This pattern evokes the precision of minimalist architectural grids, where repetition becomes a form of artistic expression.
Suitable for both interiors and protected outdoor settings, Nodum is highly versatile.
The system is fully customizable; designers can request tailored dimensions, specific weaving densities, or custom frame colors. Each screen is a unique object of Italian high craftsmanship, offering a tailored solution to harmonize privacy with visual continuity and sustainable elegance.
