The name evokes the ancient Roman defensive formation, where shields were interlocked to create a unified protection. This concept translates into a powerful system where the surface becomes a symbol of formal cohesion.
The project originated from a client’s need for a large-format element capable of partitioning open-plan spaces with prestige. Handcrafted in Italy using the exclusive SPLOT® weave, it repurposes industrial aluminum into a three-dimensional structure. This bespoke narrative offers a lightweight yet impactful identity for luxury hospitality and contemporary retail environments.
The three-dimensional surface of Testudo room divider is achieved through a meticulous manual process that filters light and creates depth.
The Black Abatellis finish emphasizes the metallic materiality, amplifying the dialogue between light and shadow.
This formal language references the strength of protective structures, yet remains visually light and vibrant. Suitable for both indoor and sheltered outdoor use, Testudo offers complete bespoke customization.
