Auriga is a cylindrical pouf featuring a handcrafted SPLOT® base and a damask cushion, designed as a symbolic and functional sculpture. Perfect for intimate seating in a master suite or as a refined accent in a high-end lounge, it also serves as a ceremonial stool in a private gallery.
The name refers to the mythological charioteer - a guardian of another's journey - evoking the duality of light and shadow.
This project originated as a bespoke wedding commission for the witnesses, the symbolic guides of the couple’s path.
Part of the "Il filo di Arianna" collection, it preserves a ritualistic elegance. It transforms a simple furnishing into a deep conceptual narrative, merging personal history with sustainable Italian craftsmanship. Born from a unique story, it remains an exclusive piece for those seeking meaning beyond aesthetics, dressing the space with a sense of protective grace.
The base features a complex SPLOT® weave using three different strip thicknesses arranged horizontally and vertically to create a dynamic pattern.
A distinctive silver finish is applied to only one side, allowing the pouf to shift its appearance based on its orientation.
This rhythmic interplay draws from the concept of kinetic art, where movement and perspective redefine the object’s soul. The pearl-white velvet damask cushion adds a tactile, opulent layer with subtle gold reflections.
