Currus is a double pouf featuring a handcrafted SPLOT® base and a mirrored, sinuous shape designed to celebrate shared connection.
Its unique infinity-inspired form creates two curved seats within a single volume, making it perfect for luxury lounges or as a poetic focal point in a private suite; it can even serve as a ceremonial seat for significant milestones.
The name Currus evokes the idea of a shared journey, continuing the metaphor of the Auriga pouf: while the latter guides, Currus represents two souls traveling together.
This project originated as a bespoke piece for a wedding, specifically designed for the bride and groom. Part of the "Il filo di Arianna" collection, it translates the concept of an unbreakable bond into a functional sculpture. It is an exclusive narrative of high Italian craftsmanship, where design meets myth to transform a simple seat into a symbol of harmony and eternal sentiment.
The base of Currus is crafted from white SPLOT®, a meticulous artisanal weave of reclaimed aluminum that lends the structure both lightness and stability. This regular weave is topped with pure white damask fabric, featuring delicate iridescent reflections that shift with the light, inviting a tactile and visual connection.
The silhouette is explicitly inspired by the Infinity symbol, creating an ergonomic mirroring effect that emphasizes visual and emotional symmetry. This sculptural design bridges the gap between functional furniture and contemporary art.
While born in white for its original ceremonial purpose, the piece is fully customizable in terms of metallic finishes, weave density, and upholstery textures. It represents a tailored approach to sustainable luxury, ensuring each pouf is a unique masterpiece of handcrafted Italian excellence.
